The 3 Most Impressive Character Traits Of An Expemplary Citizen Within A Digital Learning Community

1. Be Responsible

• Model digital etiquette. 
• Report misbehavior - if you see something, say something.
• Think Before You Share - what goes online stays online.
• Be safe  - don't share passwords or any other personal information online.

2.  Be Respectful

•  Communicate Appropriately - share as if you were having a face to face conversation with someone - if you wouldn't share it in person, please don't share it online.
• It's OK to disagree, but be polite.
• Be aware of the diverse community that you are a part of.
• Digital communities are an excellent way to develop global awareness and become more aware of other cultures.

3. Demonstrate Legal and Ethical Behavior

• Be aware of copyrights
• Document sources
• Know that there are consequences for not demonstrating legal and ethical behavior online.
• All actions online must follow local, state, and federal laws.

I am an educator with 6 years of teaching experience in a traditional brick and mortar school. The majority of my teaching experience has been in grades 6 - 12 teaching Family and Consumer Science (Food and Nutrition, Wellness, Consumer Economics, Foundations of FACS).
