Pane 3: Use of Survey
In this survey, I polled students on whether or not they would consume products that were made from Genetically Modified Foods (GMO). The students were assigned a GMO research assignment. They were to state arguments for and against GMOs. As a part of the assignment they were to poll friends and family on the topic of GMOs. But, I didn't know what their personal choice was. This survey was a quick and easy way to find out! And the survey or poll like this was very easy to create. The students would be instantly engaged in the lesson when they opened up the JigSaw classroom.
Pane 4: Use of the Whiteboard
For the whiteboard, I choose to upload a key term review. In the class, we would review each definition and come up with the correct term. I chose to use the text box feature to type in the correct terms. My computer does have a touch screen so I could have written directly on the screen, but the text box was much neater. For a matching review or cross word puzzle it would be easier to use the pencil feature or a stylus.
Reflection:
The survey feature was a really great way to engage students from the start. A quick poll is a fun way to see what they think! The white board is a cool feature that makes you feel like you are really in a real classroom writing on the board! The pencil feature was a little hard to use at first and the terms I was writing were very messy. The text box provided much clearer answers that were easy to read. In my class, Food, Nutrition, and Wellness, I will mostly use the white board for key term reviews - matching and crossword puzzles. Fill in the blank type of activities.
