Evaluate 2.1.1
Data Driven Instruction, Analytics, Reporting Tools
This quest is a very informative look at how an online instructor would monitor student progress and achievement. The methods of contact within the contact log are a very good tool when documenting and logging when and to what nature you contacted a student and their parents.
The teacher can access the class information which provides the number of students in the class and more specifically for each student when they completed orientation and how they plan to be assessed on the course. Also, the teacher will know if a student has dropped the course.
The communication log is very important. This is where the teacher will document how a student or parent was contacted, the nature of the message, and when this took place. It is also important to comment specifically on what the call was about. These are necessary logs to keep!
When monitoring student progress, the data and analytic chart is very helpful. It is nice to see how frequently a student is logging on and accessing the class. This also provides information on how many assignments a student has completed and needs to complete.
Perhaps, the teacher could have contacted students regarding their performance on a more regular basis.
