Describe Roles and Functions in Online Learning Environments

Each member of the Online Learning Environment plays are role. I will outline the roles they play:

Administration:
  • Monitors the learning environment
  • Communicates with facilitators
  • General Administrative work
Course Developer:
  •  Communicates with teachers and facilitators
  • Aligns course with standards
Teacher Role:
  • View class list of participants
  • Communication Tools/Log
  • Final grades
  • Teaches content
Student Role:
  • Register
  • View courses
  • Satisfactory completion of all work
  • View final grades
  • Pay for courses 

 Student's Facilitator Role:
  • Students full time school personnel
  • Approve courses
  • Approve pay for courses
  • View final grades
  • Acts as a counselor - could be a parent

Parent and/or Guardian:
  • Provide support for student success
  • May pay for courses
