Digital Safety and Security

Teaching students about digital safety and security is the most important step we can take to ensure that they do no become victims of digital crimes. In today's digital age everyone is using the Internet and various forms of technology. These tools are here to help us but many are not aware of the trouble you can get in for abusing these tools and also that you can become a victim of digital crimes. If we as digital citizens educate ourselves on digital safety and security, hopefully we will not become victims.

I feel that the most important strategy that we can take to help our students keep digital safety and security at the forefont of their minds is to provide examples of digital crimes, the consequences that come with them, how to recognize if you are a victim of a digital crime, and what to do if you do become a victim.

Above is a link to my diigo social bookmarking page. I have collected various sites that would be helpful in educating students about digital safety and security.

A Thin Line
This site provides excellent information for students to educate themselves on drawing the line when it comes to digital safety.
